Objective

An effective school library enhances students learning outcomes by providing a range of programs, services and resources which support teaching and learning. It also encourages a student’s reading experiences, which influences attitude, morale, beliefs, judgment and action of these young readers.

We at Arya Mahila NM Model School firmly believe that good reading habit is an essential source of knowledge. Hence, we have designed our library collection with the following goals in mind:

• Help children improve & develop multi-lingual & analytical thinking skills
• Boost the imagination & creativity of the students
• Improve their concentration and focus
• Develop independent reading skills
• Maintain book collections that meet the needs of the school community

Apart from curriculum books, students can get their hands on a collection of over 10,000 books based on renowned works of Fiction, Self Help, Journals related to history & culture, Science & Technology Periodicals, along with selected local and national newspapers are housed here. All articles in the library are carefully scanned and selected to ensure they meet the school standard & help towards the child’s betterment.

Library Rules

• The School library is open to all the students of Arya Mahila NM Model School
• All classes are provided with at least 1 library period per week
• Strict silence should be maintained in the library
• Books will be issued to the students of Class VI and above
• Each student can borrow one book per week, only on their library cards
• Books marked, lost or damaged will have to be replaced by the borrower
• The books must be put back in the correct shelf, from where it was picked
• Personal books/belongings are not allowed in the library
• No student can take the books out of the library without the librarian’s prior permission
• All borrowed books must be returned in the library within 15 days from the date of issue, failing which a fine of Rs.5/- per day will be imposed
• All books must be returned before any holiday or school examination
• Reference books will not be issued to any student
• Each student shall obtain “No Dues Certificate” from the library after returning all the books issued, surrendering the borrower’s cards and after paying outstanding dues, if any.
